Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau

The FACVB provides maps, guides and information  to visitors on the wealth of things to see and do in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. The bureau also solicits meeting and convention business for the area and promotes the area to members of the travel media.

The Airborne & Special Operations Museum

The ASOM takes visitors on a walk through 65-years of Army airborne and special operations history, featuring life-size exhibits and displays of rare weapons and equipment and meaningful personal items. An exciting motion simulator and world class gift shop round out the experience. No admission.

Averasboro Civil War Battlefield

A 4,000 acre National Park Service designated historic intersected by a NC Scenic Byway (NC Highway 82). Attractions include the Averasboro Battlefield Museum, the Chicora Civil War Cemetary, the Confederate First Line Wayside and three antebellum plantation houses, all used as field houses during the battle. The cemetary features  a Civil War ear cabin and several monuments. No admission.

Cape Fear Botanical Garden

The eighty-acre garden features forty acres of sculpted gardens and another forty acres of urban forest, with mature pines and hardwoods and a vast array of native plants and wildlife. A network of scenic trails winds through the gardens on the bluffs overlooking the Cape Fear River. Located just a mile and a half from the Market House in downtown.

The Dogwood Festival

The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival Inc. produces several events throughout the year including “Fayetteville’s Favorite Festival.” Held annually since 1983, The Dogwood Festival kicks off the fourth Friday of each April featuring a beach music street dance. With approximately 30 events held “downtown and around town” The Dogwood Festival has something for everyone.

Fascinate-U Children's Museum
