MUSEUM
ON THE MAP
FAYETTEVILLE
NC. A ceremony will be held at in
the museum’s Memorial Garden at 9:30 AM on November 9, 2000 to officially
unveil the 2001 North Carolina Department of Transportation road map. The map will feature a photograph of the museum taken at
night, with the glass walls and sloping roof of the lobby dramatically lit. The
state board approved the cover on September 22, 2000.
In-state distribution will
include rest stops, tourism offices, and public buildings.
The map will be distributed throughout the United States and
internationally to offices of tourism and travel.
A caption on the map will read, “This map is dedicated to the many
brave men and women who have served or currently serve our nation in the armed
forces.” Almost 3 million copies
will be printed.
Located at 100 Bragg Boulevard in downtown Fayetteville, the Airborne & Special Operations Museum is part of the U.S. Army Museum System and tells the story of Army airborne and special operations units from 1940 to the present.
