314th FIELD ARTILLERY BATTALION

Lineage
Constituted 5 August 1917 in the National Army as the 314th Field Artillery and assigned to the 80th Division. Organized August 1917 at Camp Lee, Virginia. Demobilized 7 June 1919 at Camp Lee. Reconstituted 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves and assigned to the 80th Division. Organized November 1921 with Headquarters at Richmond, Virginia. Redesignated 30 January 1942 as the 314th Field Artillery Battalion. Ordered into active military service, less personnel and organized 15 July 1942 at Camp Forrest, Tennessee as an element of the 80th Division (subsequently the 80th Infantry Division). Inactivated 5 January 1946 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. Redesignated 18 October 1950 as the 314th Airborne Field Artillery Battalion. Reorganized and redesignated 314th Field Artillery Battalion and assigned to the 80th Infantry Division, 10 May 1952. (Organized Reserve Corps redesignated Army Reserve, 9 July 1952)
