Iron Mike Reserve wasn’t chosen in a boardroom. It was chosen on a Friday night in the museum’s reflection garden, over bourbon, BBQ, live music and cigars.
Guests tasted, compared notes and voted on the bourbon that would carry Iron Mike’s name. Their ballots set the tasting notes and the oak finish you’ll find in every bottle.
The evening did more than pick a bourbon. It directly supported the exhibits, programs and outreach that keep the story of the Airborne and Special Operations Soldier alive at the museum.
03 The Legacy
65 years
on watch.
Iron Mike was dedicated at Fort Bragg in 1961. For more than six decades he has stood over the Airborne and Special Operations community, a symbol every paratrooper knows by sight.
He turned 65 on September 23, 2026. Iron Mike Reserve was made to honor that anniversary, carrying his legacy forward one glass at a time while helping fund the museum’s mission.
